Replying to Amft's letter of 4 August, saying he worked the previous summer on a large dramatic work, that since November he has been preparing for the centenary celebration of the Dreyssig'sche Sing-Akademie in early March, that he would gladly have written a men's chorus for Amft but his publisher had already bought and printed all of his choruses, etc.
